Sometimes I Sing In Silos, Live at Ontario Place
In 2017, Nik Beeson invited Andrea Battersby and I to join him at a silo at Ontario Place to make some music magic. Nik had composed a soundtrack for a film that was to be projected on the concave ceiling of one of the silos as part of the in/future arts festival in 2019. Nik had access to the silo days before to prep, so we took advantage of this opportunity and hauled a some music gear to the site, set up and let loose some sweet improvisations. SILO is a snapshot of that live performance! released August 6, 2022 Geoff Doner | keyboards, effects, pedals, vocals Andrea Battersby | effects, pedals, vocals Nik Beeson | guitar, effects, pedals, vocals Improvised & Performed Live in a silo at Ontario Place 2017

Pedestal by Gail Steckler, Recorded & Produced by Geoff Doner
After a rather complex relationship ended amicably, it took years to give birth to this song, following much contemplation about what was learned, gained and lost. Hi I’m Gail Steckler I met Geoff Doner quite by chance. He was sitting outside the ArtHouseTO location in Riverdale Toronto which I had walked by many times and was always intrigued by the art installations in the front window. Now I had an opportunity to ask what the space was all about. Geoff explained. I took a deep breath and shared with him that I had written songs for many years but had no success in trying to collaborate partially due to the fact that I was not financially able to offer payment. Geoff offered to help me. I was beyond elated. Once we began working together I could feel my creativity flowing again after being dormant for so long. As I speak, the production of the first song we’ve been working on is near completion and the collaboration has been beyond my expectations. It’s an incredible feeling to hear my song come to life. This is a dream come true for me especially at my age. The ArtHouseTO location is such a positive cultural space and is SO needed in this community. It’s been such a joy working with Geoff and Andrea Battersby. Gail lyrics PEDESTAL I was so wrong Right from the start I thought we two were of the same heart You played the role so smart It took me years To tell you apart I was forewarned Had to be strong Sure you’d prove that so wrong Yours is a unique song It took years To know your charm would harm I put you on a pedestal Pulled the wool over my eyes Wrapped you in glory That’s the story You tore apart All I held dear I paid the price Of your worst fear There were times of great cheer But through the years Too many a tear You ran to rocks I stayed behind You went away To clear your bruised mind Left me in a strange bind It took years To get you were that kind I put you on pedestal Pulled the wool over my eyes Wrapped you in glory That’s the story Flattered, scattered Lost track of what matters Tired and tattered Still…. You tore apart All I held dear I paid the price Of your worst fear There were times of great cheer But through the years Too many a tear You have such dread Of freedom’s theft Always saw me A real life threat You tried but then you left To this day I still have some regret I put you on a pedestal Pulled the wool over my eyes Wrapped you in glory That’s the story Flattered, scattered Lost track of what matters Tired and tattered Still…. credits released May 3, 2024 Gail Steckler - Vocals, Lyrics, Melody, Co-Producer Geoff Doner - Producer, Arranger, Instrumentation, Backing Vocals, Photographer, Cover Design Andrea Battersby - Art Direction Mastering: Bandlab Produced by Geoff Doner & Gail Steckler at BPL Studios, Riverdale Toronto November 2023 A Bureau Of Power And Light Production 2024
