ArtHouseTO Labour Day Message Hello Folks! Happy Labour Day! Our beloved ArtHouseTO HQ storefront space in Riverdale Toronto is up for sale and we are doing everything we can to remain here and continue to grow our impact. On the ground here at Headquarters for all things ArtHouseTO, our production studio is the same space inhabited intermittently by PopUp activities in the Storefront. A modest flex community space, a rental ready for upgraded AV systems, signage opportunities, sponsored programming. On our own to date, we have been able to respond to requests for low- to no-barrier exhibition space, media production space, family-friendly art workshops, and art market opportunities. Cultural Spaces like this one need to be able to continue to offer safe and welcoming places to gather, find solidarity, explore creative solutions to big problems, share expertise, cross-pollinate knowledge and teaching, and find fellowship and healing. Both online and in-person. We have received accolades and positive feedback that attests to the value of activities related to ArthouseTO, the relative accessibility of participation and the holistic benefits felt by participants. Ideally all programming will be resourced in line with honouring and uplifting the incredible talent generously exchanged here, reflecting the wealth of Cultural Capital in our communities. It is our greatest wish that this work may continue without interrupting the momentum of positive impact that has been germinating, growing and blooming for the last 3 years here in the Pape and Danforth/ Riverdale Area. Join us in conversation about how this enterprise may continue considering the unknowns of the property sale. 👉Please consider supporting the work that happens here by donating at the link in our bio if you are able. 👉Please also contact us by emailing us at contact@bpl.productions or sending us a dm if you are interested in sponsoring our programming! Lots of exciting things are happening here and there are many opportunities to support our work! Thank you for supporting ArtHouseTO! ⚡️🙏⚡️🙏⚡️🙏⚡️🙏⚡️ We need to take care of each other! It’s the only way forward! Much Love, Andrea Battersby & Geoff Doner Cofounders, Art Directors & Admin - Bureau Of Power And Light Co-Creator s & Admin - ArtHouseTO

Lightseed & The Mechanical Beings - A Post-Apocalyptic Animated Musical by Geoff Doner

Mechanical Beings navigate in the dark annihilation of a post-apocalyptic world when a how-to manual is discovered that offers a means of cultivating self-reflection counter to their primary programming: rebuilding the world to suit their empirical designers, a soon-to-be resurrected Frozen Elite. The world is in ruins, all humans, gone. A thick layer of black clouds envelopes the earth, blocking out the Sun. The Final Fires Of The Apocalypse had spread across the planet, extreme political polarities were at a breaking point and the end of humanity as we knew it was all but certain, thanks to a concerted effort by the Central Government and its corporate backers to destroy everything and start over, on their terms. The Central Government of the Divided State Of Attrition and Futek Robotics Inc. manufactur Mechanical Beings. These Mechanical Beings, or, MB’s as they were called back in the creation lab, are programmed for one purpose: to rebuild the world after the Central Government Of The Re-United State, along with their corporate allies, systematically destroy the planet and prepare it for the Frozen Elite, a selection of government officials, corporate donors and their friends each individually frozen in secure bunkers. There they will remain until the MB’s have rebuilt the world to the Frozen Elite’s advantage. When the time is right, they will unthaw, propagate their kind and rule the programmed automatons.
